RRB JE Exam Pattern 2019

Do you know why the exam pattern for RRB JEE 2019 is important for you? Through this, you will have an idea of number of questions as per subjects and also their marking scheme. This way, you will have an idea for which subject you need to prepare more. The exam for RRB JE is divided in two stages by the department. First will be Computer based test and 2nd stage CBT. After this, document verification and medical examination will be done for the selection of deserving candidates. The selection of the candidates will be done strictly as per merit list.

The exam by Railway Recruitment Board will be conducted in four phases i.e.

  • First stage of CBT to shortlist the candidates for 2nd stage
  • Second stage of CBT
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

Exam pattern for First Stage

The first Stage is computer based test which includes four different subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General Science. 

The Mathematics subject will have total 30 questions which will be of 30 marks i.e. 1 mark for each correct answer. If you attempt a question wrong then, there will be a deduction of 1/3rd mark.

The subject General Intelligence and Reasoning will have total 25 questions which will be of 25 marks. There is no fix time to attend any section however, 90 minutes has been decided for the candidates to complete whole question paper.

The subject General Awareness consist of 15 questions of 15 marks and the last General Science will have 30 questions of 30 marks. There will be 100 questions in total for Stage 1 paper. For each wrong question, there will be negative marking therefore, be sure while attempting each question in the paper. Also, the question paper will be MCQ type in which you have to tick the right answer.

Qualifying marks are different for different category i.e. 40% for General Category, 30% for SC, and OBC and 25% for ST candidates.

RRB JE Exam Pattern for 2nd Stage

Candidates who will clear first round will be able to attend the 2nd stage exam. This stage will have five subjects i.e. General Awareness of 15 marks, Physics and Chemistry for 15 marks, Basics of Computer for 10 marks and Basics of Environment for 10 marks. The Technical Abilities will be of 150 marks

Total duration will be 120 minutes to attend this paper. Also, there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for each wrong answer. Here, the minimum qualifying percentage is different form stage 1 i.e. 40% for General, 30% for OBC, 30% for SC and 25% for ST.
