SBI PO Recruitment 2020: Process

If we try to number the procedural steps in the recruitment process, there are four.

The initial process consist of a ‘Preliminary exam’. The exam consist of several multiple choice questions. A candidate needs to careful while answering them due to negative marking. Candidates will have to clear the decided cut off to move onto the next step.

Second step, is of the Main examination. Only those who will clear the Preliminary exam will qualify to give the Mains. The main exam will be tougher and will need more preparation from the candidates and more efforts.

Third step, is of the ‘Group discussion’. The group discussion will consist of the qualified candidates discussing things calmly. The candidates will be judged on their ability to maintain decorum in the group.

Fourth and last step, is of ‘Personal interview’. The final candidates will be personally interviewed. The candidates who clear this, will be selected.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria


The age of the applicant must not be over 30 years as of 1st April 2020. And, not less that 21 years as of April 2020.

  • Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe Category: 5 years
  • Other Backward Class: 3 Years
  • Person With Disability: 10 to 15 years.
  • Ordinarily Domicile in State of J&K: 5 Years
  • Ex Servicemen/SSSO/ECO: 5 years.


Students who have completed their bachelor graduation from a recognized university. There is a relaxation in terms of the discipline studied.

SBI PO Admit Card & Results 2020

Admit card: The admit card will be available before 10 days of the exam. The card can be downloaded from the official site. The applicant will have to preserve his/her registration id and password to download the card.


  • SBI PO preliminary examination result will be out sometime around 17th May 2020.
  • SBI PO main examination result will be out somewhere around 19th June 2020.
  • Finally the final interview result will be out in the the first week of August 2020.

The candidate will have to clear both the sections, namely Prelims and Mains. Then only a candidate will be eligible for the group discussion and personal interview.
